Located in northwest Oregon, the Willamette Valley is known for producing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling. This region contains the sub-AVAs of Chehalem Mountains, Ribbon Ridge, Yamhill-Carlton District, Dundee Hills, McMinnville and Eola-Amity Hills.

Santa Barbara County lies 90 miles north of Los Angeles and is home to the Santa Maria Valley, Santa Ynez Valley, Sta. Rita Hills, and Happy Canyon AVAs, which are part of the Central Coast AVA. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Dolcetto, Sangiovese are some of the grapes grown here.

Found in southeast Washington, the Walla Walla Valley AVA is part of the larger Columbia Valley AVA. The region is located in the foothills of the Blue Mountains with one third of its vineyards in Oregon. Varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, and Sangiovese.

The Columbia Gorge AVA straddles the famous river of the same name and includes vineyards in both Washington and Oregon. Diverse microclimates make this fertile ground for a wide range of grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Barbera, Riesling, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Paso Robles, a sub-region of California's Central Coast AVA, sits halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Known for its soil diversity even within a single vineyard block, the region produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, and Grenache among other varietals.

The Santa Cruz Mountains AVA is found in the range that bears its name, from Half Moon Bay in the north, to Mount Madonna in the south. This AVA contains the sub-region of Ben Lomond Mountain. Varietals include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zinfandel.
