Santa Barbara County lies 90 miles north of Los Angeles and is home to the Santa Maria Valley, Santa Ynez Valley, Sta. Rita Hills, and Happy Canyon AVAs, which are part of the Central Coast AVA. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Dolcetto, Sangiovese are some of the grapes grown here.
Found in southeast Washington, the Walla Walla Valley AVA is part of the larger Columbia Valley AVA. The region is located in the foothills of the Blue Mountains with one third of its vineyards in Oregon. Varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, and Sangiovese.
The Columbia Gorge AVA straddles the famous river of the same name and includes vineyards in both Washington and Oregon. Diverse microclimates make this fertile ground for a wide range of grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Barbera, Riesling, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
